Maya Pleninger is originally from Rochester, NY where she trained as a dancer at School of the Arts. Maya also trained at Aerial Arts of Rochester, where she learned circus arts. She performed with the Upstate Cirque Troupe, as well as being involved in numerous performances throughout her high school career. After high school, she went on to become a Dance and Theater major at Manhattanville College with a minor in Business Management. She is currently still at Manhattanville as a senior, and has been in the fall and spring dance concerts each semester, as well as senior thesis projects. She has worked with numerous choreographers during this time, some of them being: Shawn Bible, Claire Porter, Larry Goldhuber, and Andrie Kissilev. This year, she is interning with the Almagamate Dance Company, which is based in New York City. Maya is new to teaching dance, but so far has loved every minute of it! She hopes to continue on with her career as a dancer and aerialist after college, and then plans on opening her own studio eventually when her performance career is over.
